A Coastal Chic Wedding on Pender Island

Lindsay is the brilliant mind behind my branding so when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, I was floored. It’s one thing to collaborate professionally, but to be invited into such an intimate and meaningful chapter of her life was the highest honour. I got to capture their welcome party, and wedding the following day, and it was as close to perfect of a wedding weekend as you could ask for.

I need to highlight all of the incredibly thoughtful and unique moments of this wedding. Lindsay and Max threw out the rulebook and created something entirely their own. The day began quietly, just the two of them, sharing a first look on the shoreline right as a pod of orcas swam by. It was surreal, unscripted, and unforgettable. Before the main ceremony, they held a private exchange of vows with just their moms, a moment rooted in love and intentionality. Later, they walked down the aisle together, side by side, in front of their closest people. 

During their reception, guests received a handwritten note, a small reminder of how much thought and heart had gone into every detail. They enjoyed dinner shoulder to shoulder with their people, just as it should be. And the night ended like the best kind of Summer House party, the only thing missing was Kyle Cooke DJing. I can’t believe I get to do this. I remember looking over this wedding, from the balcony, saying to myself (and everyone around me): “This is what it’s all about”.
